This is an excellent garden center with over 20 years of experience. It is still family owned and it's wonderful to see that even though they have relocated, they are still thriving. It is rare that you find busniess these days who is still dedicated to their customers and only specializes in garden and garden supply. I am a loyal customer of Sloat Garden Center.

Bad attitude, terrible customer service
I would never shop here again. The staff have such a superior attitude and NO customer service ability. They may have good quality plants but the staff are mean and I'd much rather spend my money elsewhere. They promised me one thing on the phone and when I got there they went back on their word and never even apologized. The entire store is set up to suit the staff and not the customers....

Best prices here for mulch by ELAINE Y. at InsiderPages
Here is another place I like to frequent to jazz up my garden and herbs. They sell mulch too, which is a plus. I like to buy plant food here because their prices are so reasonable and the people that work here are so knowledgeable and can give you advice on your gardening situation. I also like to buy plants here to jazz up the office. Can't ever have too many plants at work, right?

Kooky but great place for a drink
I was in the City with some out of state friends and we stopped by here for a drink after an all day shopping and sightseeing and winetasting day. It was really a lot of fun. We were immediately greeted and given bowls of yummy snacks (Gardetto's) and a wet-nap for salty fingers and drink orders taken immediately. Down on Bayshore boulevard, with pretty good street parking. A very small space, but with a huge number of plants crammed into it.
